New Amazon Prime Video TV Shows and Movies in April 2026

How will Homelander die in the final season of Prime Video's The Boys? Will he be thrown feet first (so we can watch his reaction) into a wood chipper? Will he be torn to shreds by his followers after they realize he was full of it? Will he be shrunken down and injected into a horse's anus? The possibilities for a violent demise are endless in The Boys, but what isn't endless is the show itself: April 8 marks the premiere date of the superhero satire's final season, which is by far the biggest new release on Prime Video in April. Also coming to the streamer are a new version of American Gladiators, the new animated series Kevin, and the raunchy comedy film Balls Up, starring Mark Wahlberg.

The Boys Season 5 (April 8)

The fourth season of The Boys ended on the most dramatic cliffhanger of the series yet: Butcher (Karl Urban) betrayed The Boys, and they were forcibly separated. The fifth and final season of Prime Video's dark comedy brings together The Boys one last time for a war against Vought and its supes. American Gladiators Season 1 (April 17)

When American Gladiators debuted in 1989, we all thought it was the first step toward legalized televised death matches like we saw in The Running Man. Thirty-seven years later, it's just led to more American Gladiators. This third proper version of American Gladiators — NBC attempted a reboot in 2008, and the original run spawned a few specials; a recent British version has also been successful — will be hosted by wrestler The Miz and features the same brutal action you expect from the franchise, which is muscly men and women in patriotic-colored leotards engaging regular Joes and Janes in a lot of the same physical competitions that you see at a children's indoor play park. 

Kevin Season 1 (April 20)

Celebrate 4/20 by asking your roommate, "Dude, is that cat talking or is it just me?" — to which your roommate will respond, "That's the TV. You're watching Kevin, the new animated series from Aubrey Plaza and Joe Wengert (Big Mouth) about a cat who lives at an animal shelter after his owners break up and leave him to fend for himself.
