SNL: Alec Baldwin Apologizes to Himself for Flight Issue; Katy Perry Buddies Up to Matt Damon

After getting kicked off an American Airlines flight last week for playing Words with Friends, Alec Baldwin stopped by Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" to apologize to ... himself. On the show, Baldwin played the captain of the flight, who said he regretted his decision. Too bad it was obvious to Seth Meyers and everyone else that it was Baldwin underneath the hat and mustache. "Mr. Baldwin is an American treasure and I am ashamed at the way he was treated. What harm would it do to let him keep playing his game?":

Baldwin wasn't the only surprise guest who stopped by for Katy Perry's first turn as host. In a digital short with Andy Samberg, the two played best friends with holiday cheer who welcome a handsome drug addict (played by Matt Damon) and a brilliant lunatic (Val Kilmer) into their inner circle:

In advance of Pippa Middleton's appearance on Barbara Walters' annual 10 Most Fascinating People special, Perry played the British celebrity. Pippa came to her sister's defense when the Queen and Prince Philip attacked Kate for not popping out a heir to the royal throne yet (when Prince William is out of the room, natch). "You got a Doctor Who a--," Prince Philip tells her. "It's pretty good for England":

Perry met a quick demise in another sketch, in which she played a woman who finds her soul mate. Their favorite Ghostbuster is Winston and they both had the same high school nickname: stupid idiot. But when her dream guy warned her he was bad news, he wasn't kidding:
