Ellen Barkin is engaged to British barrister and Queen's counsel Ben Emmerson, Us Weekly reports. Emmerson is a colleague of Amal Alamuddin, and he and Barkin met at Alamuddin's wedding to George Clooney in September.

The couple got engaged over the holidays, a source tells Us.
Emmerson, 51, specializes in human rights law and international crime law. Barkin, 60, was previously married to actor Gabriel Byrne from 1988 to 1999 and Ronald O. Perelman from 2000 to 2006.
