All the Canceled and Renewed TV Shows This Month (September 2026)

The Traitors' work is never done. The cutthroat reality competition hosted by Alan Cumming has been renewed for three more seasons at Peacock, taking it through Season 8. The news comes just as the franchise expands with the new NBC spin-off The Traitors: New Blood, which trades celebrities and TV personalities for an all-civilian cast. Meanwhile, Apple's Slow Horses is trotting into an impressive eighth season, which will adapt Mick Herron's book Clown Town. Plus, MobLand won't be sleeping with the fishes just yet. The crime drama has been renewed for a third season at Paramount+, and all three of its biggest stars — Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren — will be back, too. In May, it seemed like Hardy was set to leave the series amid reports of behind-the-scenes tension, but everything was reportedly patched up by late June, meaning this renewal isn't a huge surprise. 

Not every show has been so lucky. Sweet Magnolias has poured its last round of margaritas after five seasons, and Ransom Canyon, the romantic drama starring Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, couldn't lasso up a third season at Netflix. The ambitious Spider-Noir, led by Nicolas Cage, has been canceled after one season despite earning Prime Video five Emmys. And Starz's P-Valley is wrapping up with its upcoming third season — but at least the Mississippi-set strip club drama, which hasn't aired in over four years, will be ending on its own terms.

TV show cancellations

• Sweet Magnolias, Netflix: Sweet Mag fans, better pour yourselves a big margie. The romantic drama about three friends in South Carolina was canceled after five seasons due to low ratings. But there's a silver lining: Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson and star JoAnna Garcia Swisher will reunite on Ladies of the House, an upcoming Netflix drama set at a winery that follows a mother and her two daughters who take over the business when the patriarch unexpectedly passes. • House of David, Wonder Project/Prime Video: The biblical series will conclude after its third season, which just started production in Greece. (Sept. 18, Wonder Project)
• M.I.A., Peacock: The Miami-set crime drama about a woman (Shannon Gisela) getting revenge on the bad guys who killed her drug-running family was KIA after one season. (Sept. 12, Deadline)
• Ransom Canyon, Netflix: The Texas-set romantic drama, which starred Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly, has been canceled after two seasons at Netflix. Per Deadline, the decision likely came down to the second season's low viewership compared to Season 1. (Sept. 10, Deadline)
• P-Valley, Starz: P-Valley is coming to an end with its upcoming third season, which is set to premiere on Dec. 4. The drama, which follows the employees at a Mississippi strip club called The Pynk, last aired in August 2022. Creator and showrunner Katori Hall said in a statement that the show is ending on its own terms and will "say goodbye with grace, grit, and glitter." The news was accompanied by a teaser. • Spider-Noir, Prime Video: The Nicolas Cage Spider-Man series was canceled in both black-and-white and color, likely due to relatively disappointing viewership numbers that did not justify the high production costs. Two days after Prime Video announced the cancellation, the series won five technical Emmys at the Creative Arts Emmys. (Sept. 4, Deadline)

TV show renewals

• The Traitors, Peacock: They're keeping busy at the Traitors castle. Peacock has renewed The Traitors for three additional seasons, taking it through Season 8, with Emmy winner Alan Cumming set to return as host. The already announced fifth season is set to premiere in 2027; the new spin-off The Traitors: New Blood, which features a civilian cast, premieres Sept. 17 on NBC. (Sept. 16, Peacock)
• Slow Horses, Apple TV: The acclaimed spy drama has been renewed for Season 8, which will consist of six episodes. The season will be based on Mick Herron's novel Clown Town, the ninth book in Herron's Slough House series. (Sept. 15, Variety)
• Ms. Pat Settles It, BET: No objections here! The courtroom reality show starring Ms. Pat has been renewed for Season 4. (Sept. 14, Deadline)
• MobLand, Paramount+: The crime drama will be back for Season 3, with stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren all set to return — despite previous reports of behind-the-scenes drama surrounding Hardy, which was resolved in June, per Deadline. The renewal was announced ahead of the Sept. 18 premiere of Season 2. (Sept. 3, Paramount+)
• Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking, Food Network: The Harry Potter-themed baking competition will return for a third season. No release date was announced, but given the upcoming debut of HBO's Harry Potter series this Christmas, a late fall or winter release — previous seasons came out of the oven in November — seems likely.
