    Q: In a recent column, you were asked about the relative ratings success of The Secret Life of the American Teenager vs. Gossip Girl, and I thought I'd add my two cents. Or two words: Molly Ringwald. As a 44-year-old man, I'm watching American Teenager because just like in my earlier years, Ringwald represents me and my friends. The kids are getting in the way.     Q: There has been lots of buzz about The Secret Life of the American Teenager getting better ratings than Gossip Girl ever did. As a teenager myself, I think the former is an awful show, but the latter isn't as bad. My question has to do with my age group. Teens (and basically all youth) generally don't have much to do over the summer and end up sitting around watching TV all day. Why don't networks ever take notice of this?
