Question: Is there any truth to the rumor that Reba might be picked up by another network, after its shabby treatment by the CW? Even in a terrible time slot, the show did well. We loyal fans would follow it to a new network, and on, say, CBS (a much better fit), it could attract millions more. Do you think there's a chance? Answer: I'm not surprised by the rumors, but I doubt there's anything to it. This is not an inexpensive show, with 125 episodes under its belt after six seasons, more than enough for syndication. While Reba would have been a better fit on CBS than on either the WB or especially the CW, that didn't happen and it isn't likely to. Question: With The Nine's all-but-official cancellation, there are very few freshman shows still on my viewing list. Only one, to be exact: The Class. I've never really gotten into the comedy shows that NBC offers, and I find Two and a Half Men too crass for my liking, but this show has caught my attention. It's certainly not the best comedy out there, but it has a likable premise and characters, and the execution is improving from week to week. I just wonder if CBS will stick with this comedy. Also on the lines of comedy, Reba has returned full-force to the new CW, gaining on Everybody Hates Chris' numbers. Can the execs at the CW swallow their pride and give Reba the full season and the season renewal that it deserves? Or will it be halted after its 13-episode run this year? Answer: The fact that CBS has stuck this long with The Class should give you some hope. But its ratings have been disappointing. Because I get questions about it every single week, I figured I'd weigh in on the CW's announcement this week that the former WB Friday sitcom Reba (once a bright spot on that dim night) is finally coming back on air. But very much on the margins. And there's a reason for that.November is becoming an unexpectedly busy month for series and season premieres: ABC's Day Break is filling in for Lost, CBS' 3 LBS is replacing Smith on Tuesdays, and ABC's wedding-day sitcom Big Day and NBC's long-awaited return of Scrubs (as part of a new Thursday two-hour comedy block) will both bow the week after Thanksgiving.And now Reba joins the party. But you'll have to make an effort to find her. The CW has scheduled the show for Sundays, in the unenviable slot of 7-8 pm/ET. On the first night back, Nov. 19, two new episodes will air back-to-back. After that, starting Nov. 26, an "encore" Reba will air in front of a "fresh" episode (as they used to be called on the WB).
