A: In addition to a boyfriend, Harmon's Lindsay is also getting a dad, and an estranged one at that. Apparently father (a former cop) and daughter haven't spoken in seven years. read more

Fans of the recently canceled The 4400 hope to pull a Jericho by dumping at least 1,700 bags of sunflower seeds (the snack of choice for Dr. Kevin Burkhoff) on USA Network executives. Most of the orders are being fulfilled by Giants Snacks LLC, a wee little eight-man operation based out of Minnesota — by no coincidence, the home state of 4400 lead Joel Gretsch.Note to network execs everywhere: The next time you create a culty show, give one character a penchant for caviar. I had not seen a letter about this, so I thought I'd send an R.I.P. to three recently canceled sci-fi shows, only one of which surprised me. I know you didn't like Journeyman and are tired of people talking about it, but people seemed to miss the fact that that show should not been compared to Quantum Leap or Life on Mars, but rather The Time Traveller's Wife. More Studios Ax Deals, Take ABC's Lead | WGA Post-Strike Watch: News About Returning Shows | 1/15/2008
Four TV studios, including Warner Bros. TV, CBS Paramount Network TV, 20th Century Fox TV and Universal Media Studios have axed deals with producers and writers on their rosters, according to Variety. The networks cite the effects of the WGA strike as the catalyst. Their decisions almost immediately follow a similar move by ABC Studios on Friday, which some sources said also initiated some larger-scale trimming of staff. While none of the numbers are definitive, CBS Paramount has cut more than half a dozen (but had fewer to start with than other studios), including Mark Johnson, John McNamara, René Echevarria and Hugh Jackman, who, the Hollywood Reporter notes, had a multi-year deal as a nonwriting producer for Seed Productions, among others. At 20th Century Fox, almost 15 producers have been released from contracts, including K-Ville producer Jonathan Lisco and writer Larry Kaplow, as well as Journeyman's Paul Redford.
