When Does This Is Us Premiere?

Get your tissues ready, because Season 3 is on the way!

Dave Lambert

Time: Tuesday, September 25 at 9/8c
Channel: NBC
Stream Online: NBC.com, Hulu, or fuboTV (try for free)

Stock up on tissues this fall, because NBC is preparing the Season 3 debut for This Is Us. And now that we know how Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) died -- saving Rebecca (Mandy Moore) and the kids from a fire -- we're going to find out more about how he lived. This season will show us some of Jack's time in the Vietnam War and, as we've seen in a flash-forward, Kevin (Justin Hartley) will end up on a plane to Vietnam to understand his father better. There he held an old photo Jack had dug up at the end of Season 2's fifth episode, showing Jack in military gear, along with other American soldiers in Vietnam - including Jack's previously-unseen brother, Nicky.

We'll find out how Beth's cousin Zoe (Melanie Liburd) ends up on that plane, too, napping on Kevin's shoulder. We'll also learn more about that ominous flash-forward scene where Kate (Chrissy Metz) tends to a depressed Toby (Chris Sullivan), telling him that the doctor wants to adjust his meds. For Randall (Sterling K. Brown) and his side of the Pearson family, show creator Dan Fogelman promised that early in the third season we'll learn more about Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson). We'll surely also see the fallout from Deja (Lyric Ross) trashing Randall's Mercedes with a bat. But I'm guessing that we'll probably have to wait a little bit to find out more about the meaning of last season's flash-forwards showing a then-older Randall with his then-grown-up eldest daughter, Tess (Iantha Richardson).

NBC will premiere This Is Us Season 3 on Tuesday, September 25th, at 9/8c. This is the first of 18 expected new episodes, and you won't want to miss it! But if you can't get to the TV that night, you'll be able to stream the season debut at NBC.com, or at Hulu. Or you can check out fuboTV, where there are a lot of channels available to watch, and a 7-day free trial period for new subscribers.
