Val Kilmer Denies Throat Tumor and Surgery in New Statement

The actor does acknowledge medical "complication"

Val Kilmer is denying reports that he was hospitalized Monday night to undergo surgery for a throat tumor.

"Thank you for all your sweet support. But I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation," Kilmer wrote on Facebook Saturday morning. "I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the ucla ICU."

TMZ reported Friday that Kilmer was taken to the hospital after he began bleeding from his throat. The Santa Monica Fire Department confirmed toPeoplethat a man was transported from Kilmer's home address to the hospital, but could not comment on the reason.

"Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk," Kilmer continued.
