Two Supernatural Stars Are Going to Have a Podcast but Don't Get Too Excited

We might not have a Wayward Sisters TV series, but according to Entertainment Weekly, Supernaturalactresses Kim Rhodes and Briana Buckmaster, who play Jody Mills and Donna Hanscum, respectively, on the CW series, are launching a new podcast. It's called The Wayward Podcast, but before you get too excited, it is not about Supernatural or the Wayward Sisters themselves.

"This podcast is not about Supernatural, it's not about the fandom, it's about our perspective on life as two friends and two women moving through this world," Rhodes told the magazine. "We're inviting the fans to stop being fans and start being fellows."

The podcast was inspired by The CW choosing not to pick up the Wayward Sisters spin-off earlier this year, but it's not a consolation prize. "We see it as more than a TV show because humanity and connection is so much bigger than a television show," said Rhodes. "We have the opportunity to increase what we are, not out of ego, but out of passion for connection and authenticity."

The podcast, which will be released weekly and features episodes that clock in at less than 20 minutes, will cover a variety of topics. "We looked at things that we enjoy learning from each other, so like: What does it mean to be pretty? What does it mean to be angry? What does it mean to be a mom," Rhodes said, noting that a lot of these topics are things they get asked about at fan conventions already.

"It's something that can make them feel like they're not alone, make them feel driven, inspired, ready to take on whatever challenges they feel like they're going to face throughout the day," added Buckmaster.

Here's How the Wayward Sisters Will Return to Supernatural

A teaser is already up, and the podcast officially launches Monday, Oct. 29.

Supernatural airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW.

(Full disclosure: TV Guide is owned by CBS, one of The CW's parent companies.)
