Dulé Hill Confirms a Psych: The Movie 2 Time Jump

But what about that John Cena cliffhanger?

Good news, Psychos! We've finally got some information about when and where we'll find Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) when Psych: The Movie 2arrives!

TV Guide spoke with Hill recently about the much-anticipated Psych movie sequel, and it turns out we're in for a bit of a time jump. While you might have expected the action to pick up right where the last movie left off -- especially considering the explosive cliffhanger ending -- it doesn't sound like that will be the case.

"We continue in real time, so we see where Shawn and Gus and Jules (Maggie Lawson) and Lassie (Timothy Omundson) -- where they are now," Hill told TV Guide. "We see exactly what has happened over these past two years we haven't seen them."

Everything We Know About the Psych: The Movie Sequel

It's still up in the air whether that means we'll actually find out what happened with John Cena's character Ewan, or whether he'll be in the sequel at all, but we do know one character that will guest star. Jimmi Simpson's Mary Lightly will once again make an appearance (despite his character being killed off the show years ago), and Hill says it may even be the best part of the whole movie.

"There's always the appearance of Mary Lightly," Hill teased. "Even though he's dead, he's like a cat with nine lives. He just keeps showing up. Just Jimmi Simpson alone, just his appearance in the Psych movie, it's well worth watching it. If you don't watch anything else, just watch Jimmi Simpson."

Psych: The Movie 2 will debut on USA this fall.
