If you want to watch the majority of Boston Red Sox games in 2024, you'll need access to the New England Sports Network (NESN). The regional channel is a joint venture between the Fenway Sports Group and Delaware North, and it's home to tons of Red Sox games for the 2024 season. But if you're trying to figure out how to watch NESN, or more specifically, how to watch NESN without cable, there are some big limitations you need to know about.
For one, most streaming services don't carry NESN. This includes popular services like Hulu and YouTube TV. Instead, you'll want to turn towards services like DIRECTV STREAM and Fubo, both of which carry the network—along with several other channels important for MLB fans.

How to Watch NESN on DIRECTV STREAM

The Choice Plan from DIRECTV STREAM includes NESN and is a great option for Red Sox fans. It's a bit expensive at $109 per month, but it also gets you ABC, TNT, ESPN, and MLB Network, giving you access to regional and national baseball games. DIRECTV STREAM also offers the Entertainment Plan for $80 per month, but it doesn't include NESN.

With a Fubo Pro Plan ($80 per month), you'll get access to NESN. You'll also benefit from channels like ESPN, ABC, FOX, and FS1. Fubo is a streaming service that's built around sports, so when you're not watching baseball, you'll get access to plenty of live programming for football, basketball, soccer, and hockey. The Sports Lite add-on is also available for $10 per month if you want access to MLB Network (among other sports channels). And while it won't be relevant for folks who get NESN, Fubo gives shoppers the option to pick up an MLB.TV subscription for out-of-market games for $30 per month.
How to Watch NESN with a VPN
Since NESN is typically limited to the New England region, viewers outside the geographical area should look into services like ExpressVPN and Private Internet Access. These let you spoof your location and trick your provider into thinking you're located in a different region. Depending on your VPN server and streaming platform, you might be able to catch regional broadcasts. Private Internet Access starts at $2 per month, and ExpressVPN is running a 49% price cut for its annual plan. Watch Red Sox with MLB.TV
