Doctor Who's ever-expanding cast of creatures, creeps, and companions means that any binge watch is chock full of "Wait ... is that...?" moments. Inspired by the long-running sci-fi series' recent return, and because we are plagued by exhausting curiosity and clearly have nothing better to do with our lives, we've compiled a massive list of some of the most impressive, surprising, and delightful guest stars to grace the TARDIS' control room (or it's vicinty).

Of course, there are a few rules: We are not including regular companions or recurring characters who took on a life of their own and landed their very own TV series à la Captain Jack Harkness. Instead, this is a list of the blink-and-miss-them crowd, as well as the occasional recurring characters who are not Jack Harkness (though we do love us some John Barrowman). We've also not included the classic Doctor Who series because we have to sleep at some point.
