FX has announced that the limited series, which will feature Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams as famed Broadway choreographer Bob Fosse and performer Gwen Verdon, will premiere on Tuesday, April 9 at 10/9c.

"He was a visionary. She made him a star," the show's teaser tagline touts.

The eight-episode series is being produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail, Steven Levenson and Joel Fields. Miranda also promised that fans are "right to be hyped" by the currently in-production showcase, which is being filmed in New York.

The couple's daughter, Nicole Fosse, worked with Rockwell and Williams to help guide the actors' portrayal of her legendary parents.

Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon were married in 1960 and worked together on a number of Tony Award-winning Broadway plays, including Damn Yankees (1955), New Girl In Town (1957) and Redhead (196o), during which his career accelerated from choreography to directing and filmmaking. Even after their marriage became strained and they separated in 1971, the two continued to work together on a number of projects including Chicago (1975), Dancin' (1978) and All that Jazz (1979). The two never divorced.

Fosse/Verdon premieres on FX on Tuesday, April 9 at 10/9c.
