This Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Trailer Is Creepy in the Best Way

It's so good, it's scary!

A new teaser for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has arrived and it's pretty wicked. In the freaky new teaser, which dropped on Thursday, Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) celebrates her 16th birthday with an eerie rendition of "Happy Birthday" accompanied by some pretty weird guests. From ghosts to masked figures to a mysterious person donning a ram's head (The Dark Lord, perhaps?), these strange partygoers are a reminder that this Netflix show is far cry from the quirky '90s series starring Melissa Joan Hart.

An adaptation of the comics series of the same name, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a coming-of-age story that integrates horror and the occult much like Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist, with a little Riverdale thrown in for good fun. Sabrina must contend with her identity as a half-mortal and a half-witch while confronting evil forces that threaten her and her family. It also stars Ross Lynch as Harvey, Richard Coyle as Father Blackwood, Lucy Davis as Aunt Hilda and Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda.

This new iteration comes from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who currently serves as Riverdale's showrunner and the CCO of Archie Comics. Along with penning the script, he is set to executive-produce alongside his Riverdale team members Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Archie Comics CEO Jon Goldwater and Lee Toland Krieger.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina premieres Friday, Oct. 26 on Netflix.
