As the year winds down, it's time to draw up those best of 2015 lists! For the First Family, those lists went to outer space and deep into a young girl's mind.

In a new interview with People, President Obama reveals that Matt Damon's stellar adventure film The Martian was his favorite movie of the year. Going from outer space to inner space, Michelle chose Disney and Pixar's tearjerker Inside Out as her big hit of the year.

When it came to the small screen however, their loves overlapped a bit. Both Obamas are fans of ABC's comedy Black-ish. Star Anthony Anderson even told E! News that they're hoping to get the couple to guest-star on the show. (And of course, the Johnson family dressed up as the Obamas for this year's Halloween episode.) The President also named Cinemax's bloody period hospital drama The Knick as a favorite.

He also shared how much he enjoyed his appearance on Running Wild With Bear Grylls., which will air on Thursday, Dec. 17 at 10/9c on NBC.

"I became the first sitting president to visit north of the Arctic Circle, but before I made it up there, I checked out a glacier and trekked through the Alaskan wilderness with Bear Grylls," he said. "Now, based on what I know of Bear, this could have gone a number of ways - and I did end up eating a salmon that had been gnawed on by an actual bear - but we had a great time."
