"Elseworlds" Arrowverse Crossover Poster Is Great — But Where Is Supergirl?

What gives, CW?!

The CW dropped the official poster for "Elseworlds," this year's Arrowverse crossover between The Flash, Arrow and Supergirlon Tuesday and it looks like our latex-wearing heroes will be thrown into a chaotic alternate universe where everything is out of sorts.

The sneak peek features Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Green (Stephen Amell) swapping superhero garbs with Allen rocking the Green Arrow suit while Queen dons The Flash's signature red threads. "Destiny will be rewritten," the mysterious poster reads. More baffling than this strange reversal of roles, however, is the glaring absence of Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist). Did she go out for ice cream? Call in sick that day? It's odd that the Girl of Steel was left out given that she's an essential part of this grandiose event. What gives, CW?!

Although the network has been pretty tight-lipped about details surrounding the plot, we do know that a major event will bring Supergirl, Arrow and The Flash to Gotham City where they'll meet Mr. Freeze's wife Nora Fries and Batwoman (Ruby Rose) who makes her Arrowverse debut before heading off for her own series. The event will also feature Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) who will rock a sick black suit for the occasion.

The Legends from DC's goofy time-traveling series Legends of Tomorrow, on the other hand, will not be a part of this year's crossover. Instead, they'll somehow crossover with themselves (yep, this is actually happening) because they can.

What Does the Arrowverse Crossover Title "Elseworlds" Mean?

"Elseworlds" will see all three Arrowverse shows airing on a special night starting with The Flash on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 8/7c, followed by Arrow on Monday, Dec. 10 at 8/7c and closing with Supergirl on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 8/7c.
