  • We Made It Through This Day | TV Show Recaps | 10/26/2007
Episode Recap: "Haunt You Everyday"Why should Izzie direct all of her questions to Bailey now? "Because she’s been sleeping with my husband," Callie announced, in that oh-so-matter-of-fact tone that bubbled up unexpectedly. And just like that, this episode was off and running! So, tonight was Halloween, and as we all know, freaky things tend to happen on this holiday — and weird happenings were not in short supply at Seattle Grace. First, there was the guy who sliced off his finger with a chainsaw (accidentally), and then there was the guy who tried to slice off his foot (on purpose). I truly thought the latter was just an elaborate trick to scare Bailey, but obviously it wasn’t. Then, of course, there was Meredith being haunted by the ashes of her mother. Fortunately, Mer finally found a way to peacefully part with her mother’s remains, by returning them to the OR (via the OR sink). As far as tricks go, though, I think my favorite was the one Derek played on... read more be the first to leave a comment
  • Forgive and Forget | TV Show Recaps | 10/19/2007
Episode Recap: "The Heart of the Matter""I forgive you." Did I hear that right? Callie, calmly telling George that he made a mistake by sleeping with Izzie, but that she was willing to forgive him because of their wedding vows? Thank god she changed her mind by the end of the episode, because I'm not sure I could have forgiven Callie for letting Gizzie off the hook so easily! Not after everything we've been through in this whole messy love triangle! Though something tells me we won't have anything resembling closure here for quite some time. And while I secretly knew that Callie wasn't really planning on a lunchtime brawl, it was fun watching Izzie prepare for the possibility of one. I think it was the trash-talking that I enjoyed the most, especially when Izzie quipped, "I'm just saying, I learned to fight in a trailer park. Where'd Callie learn to fight? Boarding school?" Oh, Izzie, I may not like the idea of you and George being together, but I do admire your passion to fight... read more be the first to leave a comment

Well, George dumped half of his big secret on Callie last week. Let's see if the other shoe drops now — and if so, what the reaction might be around Seattle Grace. Another relationship plotline will involve the chief, who has been pining for his ex, Adele (Loretta Devine), for weeks now. They'll meet this week, but under circumstances neither wants. Then there's intern Norman Shales (Edward Herrmann), the wise-looking former pharmacist who demonstrated last week that he's not as sage as he may seem. • "Let the Truth Sting" | TV Show Recaps | 10/12/2007
When the episode opened with Alex and Lexie checking each other out in the elevator, I thought we were going to see the two of them getting cozy tonight. That was so not the case. Instead, Alex got tied down with the "old intern," Dr. Norman Shales (Edward Herrmann), who meant well but managed to get in the way more than he helped. Sticking with the "old dog, new tricks" theme, Dr. Sloan and Dr. Webber decided to take their chances with a radical procedure in order to prove that they still had that magic touch. Their goal was to treat a woman's cancer while preserving her ability to speak. Fortunately for the patient, Derek's last-minute expertise helped to make the surgery a success. The only down-side she faced was dealing with the backlash of the brutally honest confessions she made to her friends shortly before the procedure took place. Yes, I was pretty sure her friends had left the building for good, after having been told that they either "wore their pants too tight," or... read more be the first to leave a comment

Admittedly, having a baby snatched from the hospital by a drug-dealer father is a no-no, and it did happen on Callie's watch. But still, the chief was way too harsh with her last week, didn't you think? And now, the poor gal is expecting George to dump her. Speaking of harsh treatment, Meredith has been downright rude to Lexie, and while this might change, the mentoring she'll give her sweet half-sister tonight will be grudging. Meanwhile, Edward Herrmann, who played a doctor on TV in a 1980 episode of M*A*S*H, begins a tour of duty at Seattle Grace — as an intern. — Paul Droesch read more be the first to leave a comment
