2023 was a year without a new season of Emily in Paris, and TV's fashion game just wasn't the same. Thankfully, our most stylish girl is returning in 2024, and we're just months away from following Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) in her stylish adventures across Europe. Until Emily in Paris Season 4 is released, we'll pass the time by eating croissants, trying to match berets with each outfit, and tracking down everyone savory crumb of information dropped by the cast and crew.

The third season of the Darren Star series on Netflix left us with a lot to digest. While we wait for its return, here's everything we know about what's next for Emily in Paris in Season 4.

Emily in Paris Season 4 latest news

On May 3, Netflix announced that Emily in Paris Season 4 will launch this year in two parts. Read below to find out when the show returns.

Emily in Paris Season 4 release date

In a new Netflix video shared on May 3, the cast of Emily in Paris is asked to describe Season 4 in three words. "Revenge," "heartbreaking," and "amour" are just some of the picks. Before the video ends, Collins says, "I actually have a few more words." That's when the actor shares the big news: Season 4 will premiere in two parts, with the first premiering on Aug. 15 — just days after the end of the Paris Olympics — followed by the second on Sept. 12. Each part will contain five episodes.

Filming for the new season began earlier this year. On Jan. 19, Netflix posted a photo of Collins holding a script of Episode 401. "BONJOUR SEASON FOUR," the caption reads.  "Emily in Paris is back in production." The actor also took to her own Instagram to share the news. "Did someone say Saison Quatre?!" she wrote. "Finally reunited with my @emilyinparis fam back in Paris and it feels so good."

Emily in Paris Season 4 production

Are we ready for Emily in Italy? "Don't be surprised to find her on a Roman holiday" in Season 4, according to Collins. In a video shared on June 17, 2023, as part of Netflix's fan event Tudum, Collins previewed the upcoming season and teased that the series would be headed to Rome.

In the spring of 2024, the show headed to Italy after filming wrapped in France. "When you're the first ones on the dance floor at the Paris wrap party," Collins posted on April 27. "Next stop: Rome!…" Days later, the actor shard a photo of herself in front of the Colosseum.

Emily in Paris Season 3 recap

The beginning of Season 3 focused primarily on Emily's career, with plenty of office hijinks ultimately leading Emily to unemployment. After Savoir's parent company pulled the plug on operations in France, Emily's boss Madeline (Kate Walsh) went home to Chicago, while Emily chose to stay in Paris and eventually got her job back at Sylvie's (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) new firm. On the relationship front, things were going great for Emily and her boyfriend, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), while there was some trouble in paradise between Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Camille (Camille Razat) (the latter was having a secret affair!). But the chef and his longtime artist girlfriend eventually get engaged, only to have the wedding ceremony go terribly wrong, with Gabriel finding out Emily made a pact to never date him again out of respect for Camille. This news also broke up Alfie and Emily's relationship, and the season ended with Gabriel revealing that the reason behind the engagement was that Camille is pregnant.

What will Emily in Paris Season 4 be about?

Here is a logline from Netflix about Emily in Paris Season 4: "After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel's misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel's expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie's worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they're forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel's chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they've dreamed of."

Emily in Paris Season 4 spoilers

TV Guide spoke with Emily in Paris creator Darren Star at the end of the third season to pick his brain about what the Camille pregnancy cliffhanger means for Season 4. Here's what he had to tease. You can read the full interview here.

Emily and Gabriel are not jumping into a relationship, even though they are both technically single now. "I don't know that Gabriel is in the best place to start a relationship with Emily," Star said. "I am not sure that Emily wants a relationship with Gabriel under the circumstances."

Alfie isn't completely out of the picture yet, making things really complicated in Season 4. "Season 4 is going to be more about navigating complicated relationships: personal relationships and work relationships, and how they come into conflict with each other," Star said. "Emily is still going to be working with Alfie, Gabriel, and Camille. Those work relationships are really fraught with emotional conflicts."

It's not decided who Emily will settle down with at the end of the show. "There are more chapters before we get anywhere near that," Star said when asked if he knows who Emily ends up with in the end. "I don't have one strong idea at the moment of who she is going to be with." Shocking!
